WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN CREATING YOUR VIDEO PRODUCTION

First of all, we try to make it as easy as possible for you. After all, you're an expert in YOUR field, but you may know very little about the process of creating a marketing video. We can't begin to cover everything here, but there are three basic phases of producing a high quality video production.

PRE PRODUCTION

It's probably the most important part of your video. Here is where the ideas start to take shape. You may have some ideas, and we'll offer our creativity, and our experience in producing advertising for great clients for the past 30 + years. What are all of the elements you can use in your video? We'll choose the ideas that will best communicate YOUR IDEAS to your audience, and that will fit within your budget. Here's a few questions we'll discuss:

1) What do you want to say about your business?

2) How are you going to use this video? Website broadcasting, DVD handouts, trade show looping video, in-store demonstration?

3) Who is your target audience? What characteristics do you want to appeal to?

4) What do you want your audience to do after watching the video? What emotions do you want them to have? What actions should they take?

5) What's our timeline? How long do you plan on using this particular video?

6) What's your budget? List things that must be included, and list things that would be nice to have included.

7) How involved do you want to be in the production process?

8) Quantity needed. (Internet, DVD, CD)

PRODUCTION

Once we have the basics understood, we'll prepare a storyboard and script for you to look at. Making changes to the paperwork is much easier than trying to change something after we've already shot the video. The storyboard is the master plan that lists all the elements of your program. It's a roadmap for everyone to know exactly what is going to happen.

Production is where all of the on-camera parts are shot and captured. Depending on your needs, we can shoot video in our studio, either in front of our green screen set, our regular studio set, or on location at your business or a combination of both. If we're shooting on location, it's important to let all of the interested parties know in advance of our presence. That includes everyone who may appear in the background, on camera, even your security people.

Video production is very much like movie production. It's typically shot out of order. The magic happens in post production when we piece everything together. If non-professional people are going to be featured, they should be briefed on what will be required of them.

If you're going to be shooting your video at our studio on our green screen set, it's very important...DO NOT WEAR GREEN CLOTHING. The process of shooting on the green screen set is so we can digitally remove the green behind you, leaving it open for us to insert any kind of background we want. Other video, still shots of your business, or simply a white background to insert on your website, so that the only thing seen is YOU, so that nothing distracts from your message.

We want you to appear natural and relaxed. If you try too hard, you'll look phony, and you won't appear believeable. When you come to our studio, we'll help set you at ease so that you will look relaxed, honest and natural. Sometimes, people don't even realize that we're recording them until well into the process! Later, we blend all of the best parts together to create a simple and clear message.

POST PRODUCTION

This is where all the pieces are put together into your final video production. While the exact methods of how we try to emphasize your best selling points are closely guarded, we can tell you that we use software like Adobe Creative Suite CS3 to accomplish the magic. Adobe Premiere Pro is used to edit and mix the parts together, Adobe After Effects creates some very special effects, including the green screen digitizing. Photoshop is also used for our video production, and when creating DVD's, Adobe Encore CS3 prints the final version onto Disc for duplication.

Once we have the video complete, you'll have the opportunity to view it and suggest any changes. Keep in mind that Our Production Studio can offer low prices because we work carefully and quickly. If you make significant changes to the video mix, the price will increase to reflect the extra time involved. Remember what we said about PRE PRODUCTION?

After the approval process, your video production is either duplicated onto DVD copies, or for website broadcast, we provide you with the digital files necessary for your webmaster to insert into your webpages. We also offer you our webservers to host your video. You just link to the video, and our webserver takes care of playing the video! It's great when you simply want to send out emails of your video, and include a link to your video in the body of the email!
